Call for JWPHPT Associate Editor
Are you passionate about advancing Women’s & Pelvic Health Physical Therapy? We are seeking an Associate Editor to join our team and help shape the future of the field.
At the Journal of Women’s & Pelvic Health Physical Therapy (JWPHPT), our mission is to promote evidence-based practices and drive innovation in women’s and pelvic health physical therapy. As an Associate Editor, you will play a pivotal role in advancing our vision by leading manuscript reviews, contributing to strategic planning, and serving as a Journal Ambassador to foster connections and expand our readership.
Responsibilities
Peer Review:

Invite reviewers appropriate for the manuscript content.

Evaluate reviewer responses.

Recommend manuscript decisions to the Editor-in-Chief.
Editorial Advisers:
-
Participate in editorial board meetings and strategic planning.

Identify areas of content growth and acquisition.

Assist with reviewer training.
Journal Ambassadors:
-
Foster potential authors, readers, reviewers, and subscribers via various means
-
Promote the submission of high-quality manuscripts to JWPHPT.

Encourage colleagues to read, cite, and include JWPHPT in their social media posts.
Meetings:
- Attend monthly or quarterly editorial board meetings (schedule is contingent on strategic priorities of the journal)
- Attend in-person meetings such as strategic retreats, annual reviewer reception, annual editorial board meeting (meeting type, frequency, and financial coverage is contingent on the Academy of Pelvic Health Board-approved budget)
Qualifications for U.S. Based Associate Editor
The ideal candidate is a licensed physical therapist with expertise in women’s health and pelvic care, meeting the following criteria:

Academic Doctorate (PhD, EdD, DSc, etc.)

3 or more peer-reviewed publications
-
Experience in manuscript review
- Must be a current member of the Academy of Pelvic Health Physical Therapy and be able to maintain membership throughout service
Qualifications for International-Based Associate Editor
The ideal candidate is a licensed physiotherapist with expertise in women’s health and pelvic care, meeting the following criteria:

Academic Doctorate (PhD, EdD, DSc, etc.)

3 or more peer-reviewed publications
-
Experience in manuscript review
- Must be a current International Partner subscriber of the Academy of Pelvic Health Physical Therapy and be able to maintain subscription throughout service

- As of September 1, 2026, the call for U.S. Associate Editor is closed; however, interested individuals may still apply to be considered in the future should a vacancy emerge or should the editorial board expand to allow for more associate editors.
- As of September 8, 2025, the call for International Associate Editor is now open for a 30-day period. The Academy will be actively accepting applications until October 8, 2026.
