Have you been accepted to present at an interdisciplinary or cross-disciplinary healthcare conference? Apply for up to $2,500 in Academy funding to share pelvic health physical therapy research, clinical expertise, and innovation with a broader healthcare audience.
Why This Award Matters
Purpose
This award provides financial assistance to Academy members who have been accepted to present at interdisciplinary or cross-disciplinary conferences. The objective is to enhance awareness and visibility of the science and benefits related to pelvic and abdominal health physical therapy.
By supporting Academy members who share their expertise with broader healthcare audiences, the program helps elevate the value of the specialty and encourages collaboration between pelvic health physical therapy and other healthcare disciplines.
This is an opportunity to bring pelvic health physical therapy into conversations where our expertise may be underrepresented.

Funding Details
Award Amount
There shall be two (2) award cycles in the calendar year. During each award cycle, up to $2,500 in award funding will be awarded either in full to the top applicant or divided among top-ranked, selected recipients.
Funding may cover eligible expenses including:
- Travel
- Lodging
- Per Diem
- Conference registration
Funding may only be used for expenses that are not already sponsored by a source outside of the Academy. If a recipient is not selected during an application round, unused funding may be carried over to a subsequent round.
The recipient must first submit the required post-conference report and expense reimbursement form with accompanying receipts.

Before You Apply
Eligibility Requirements
Applicants must meet all of the following requirements.
- You must be a currently active member of the Academy of Pelvic Health Physical Therapy.
- You must have been accepted to present at an eligible upcoming conference or a past conference attended within the six months preceding the award date.
- You must be physically present for your presentation at the respective conference to maximize interaction.

How It Works
Application & Selection Process
Applications move through eligibility verification, committee evaluation, and final review by the Board of Directors.

Academy staff confirm active membership and review basic eligibility requirements.

The reviewing committee scores eligible applications using the established grading rubric.

Recommendations are submitted
The committee ranks applicants and submits its recommendations to the Board of Directors.

Recipients are selected
The Board reviews the recommendations and makes the final award decisions.
Applications are evaluated based on impact and innovation, multi- or interdisciplinary collaboration, and engagement within the Academy of Pelvic Health Physical Therapy.

Requirements differ slightly depending on whether you apply before or after attending the conference.
Upcoming Conference
Before the Conference
- The recipient is responsible for registration, travel, and lodging arrangements.
During the Conference
- Deliver a high-quality presentation that reflects positively on pelvic and abdominal health physical therapy.
- When permitted, display the Academy logo on the presentation’s acknowledgments slide.
- When logo use is not permitted, include a disclaimer noting funding from the Academy. Include appropriate financial disclosures in oral presentations.
- Act as an Academy ambassador by engaging with professionals and promoting the Academy’s mission and the profession.
After the Conference
- Post-Conference Report: Share key takeaways, opportunities for future collaboration, and relevant contacts, such as prospective research partners, funders, or speakers.
- Experience Sharing: Share the experience with Academy membership through a format selected with the Academy. Options may include a written article of at least 400 words with photos or a webinar.
- Expense Report: After the report is accepted, submit the reimbursement form and accompanying receipts using the form provided in the award notice email.
- Failure to complete the requirements will result in forfeiture of reimbursement.

- Post-Conference Report: Share key takeaways, opportunities for future collaboration, and relevant contacts, such as prospective research partners, funders, or speakers.
