Pathways to Teaching
CAPP Pathway
Become a faculty member for the Certificate of Advanced Practice in Physical Therapy in Pelvic Health or Obstetric Health (CAPP-Pelvic / CAPP-OB) program.
CAPP Teaching Assistant
Support the Academy's Certificate of Advanced Practice in Physical Therapy (CAPP) courses by assisting instructors during live sessions. Enhance your teaching skills, gain exposure to course content, and contribute to the education of future pelvic health professionals. This role serves as a stepping stone toward becoming a paid Teaching Assistant.
Applicants must be licensed Physical Therapists (PTs) and Academy members in good standing for at least one year. You must have completed and successfully passed the CAPP course you wish to assist. As you progress as a Teaching Assistant, you may have the opportunity to assist in higher-level courses. Exceptions are subject to the discretion of the Academy.

CAPP Paid Teaching Assistant
Support course Instructors in creating a dynamic learning environment by moderating questions and assisting with activities. As a TA, you represent the Academy of Pelvic Health Physical Therapy and are expected to uphold professionalism while gaining valuable teaching experience.

CAPP Instructor
Applicants must complete the Academy’s structured Instructor Mentoring Program to become qualified to teach CAPP-Pelvic and CAPP-OB courses. Mentees progress through a multi-stage professional development journey guided by experienced Mentors, gaining practical teaching experience, feedback, and alignment with APHPT standards. Successful completion demonstrates readiness for promotion to Instructor. Qualifications and eligibility criteria are shared in the mentee application.
