Get up-to-date information on how different cancer treatments impact sexual health and how pelvic health rehab can effectively assess and treat cancer-related sexual dysfunction.

Course Description

2.75 Contact Hours1

This course is designed for pelvic health rehab clinicians to learn the most up-to-date information about cancer-related sexual dysfunction and how to best manage it. There are over 18 million cancer survivors in the U.S., and many will struggle with the side effects of cancer treatment for years beyond the completion of their cancer care. Cancer treatments can contribute to a variety of sexual impairments experienced both acutely and long-term, and pelvic health rehab clinicians have a crucial role in addressing these concerns.

Sexual loss is a significant theme for cancer survivors across all cancer types, genders, ages, sexual orientations, races, and ethnicities. Additionally, 60% of cancer survivors experience some type of long-term sexual dysfunction, but less than 25% are getting the help they need from their healthcare provider.

This self-paced course focuses on sexual health, the impact of different cancer treatments on sexual health, types of cancer-related sexual dysfunction, appropriate examination and evaluation, and interventions the rehab clinician can utilize with their patients. Additional specialized content includes sexual health considerations for Adolescent and Young Adult, Sexual and Gender Minority, and Racial and Ethnic Minority cancer survivors.
