Kristen Vick Appointed Academy Vice President for 2027–2028

The Academy of Pelvic Health Physical Therapy Board of Directors is pleased to announce the appointment of Kristen Vick, PT, DPT, PWCS, as Vice President for February 2027–February 2028.

Upcoming Transition

Following the conclusion of the 2027 Annual Membership Meeting, Kristen will officially join the Academy’s Board of Directors as Vice President. Kristen will complete the final year of Shannon Fox’s Vice President term as Shannon transitions to President-Elect following the 2026 elections. Kristen’s Background

A Board-Certified Pelvic & Women’s Health Clinical Specialist, Kristen practices full-time at a hospital-based outpatient clinic in Spartanburg, South Carolina, treating patients of all genders with a wide range of pelvic health conditions. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Health Education with a concentration in Exercise Science from Georgia College & State University in 2010 and her Doctor of Physical Therapy from the Medical College of Georgia in 2013.

Within her healthcare system, Kristen serves as a liaison to the weekly Prostate & Genitourinary Cancers Multidisciplinary Conference and is leading the development of an Obstetric Care Pathway to expand access to physical therapy throughout pregnancy and postpartum. She also supervises family medicine and obstetrics and gynecology residents during their two-week pelvic health electives, as well as Doctor of Physical Therapy students during clinical placements.

Kristen brings extensive leadership experience across APTA’s national, state chapter, and Academy levels. She served two terms as Vice President and two terms as President of APTA South Carolina Chapter. Her Academy service includes roles as Male Health Special Interest Group Director, a member of the Health Impact, Access, & Equity Task Force, and, most recently, a member of the Practice & Advocacy Committee. Nationally, she served on APTA’s Advocacy Awards Subcommittee and was selected as a mentor for the 2025 APTA Association Leadership Scholars Program, a year-long initiative supporting emerging association leaders. These experiences reflect her strong commitment to advocacy, member engagement, and advancing pelvic health care.

Kristen’s Leadership Perspective

In her 2026 candidate statement, Kristen emphasized advocacy, collaboration, and a sense of belonging as central to her approach to leadership. She described a commitment to helping patients participate actively in their care, supporting professional education and research, and helping members understand the issues that affect their practice.

Her experience across APTA leadership roles has shaped her understanding of board governance and the importance of member participation. Through her Academy service, she has felt welcomed by leaders and members alike—an experience she hopes to extend to others.

Kristen also values listening and building consensus. As President of APTA South Carolina, she introduced roundtable discussions to ensure every Board member had an opportunity to contribute. She hopes to bring that same collaborative approach to the Academy, drawing on members’ perspectives and experiences to help the organization thrive.
