How to Join Academy Membership

Becoming a member of the Academy of Pelvic Health Physical Therapy (APTA Pelvic Health) is a great step toward deepening your expertise, accessing cutting-edge education, and connecting with like-minded professionals. Here’s a quick guide to help you navigate the membership process.

Step 1: Join APTA 

The Academy of Pelvic Health Physical Therapy is a component of the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA). To become a member of the Academy, you must first join APTA. APTA offers a variety of membership types for physical therapists (PTs), physical therapist assistants (PTAs), and students (SPTs & SPTAs). You can explore the benefits and begin the application process via the APTA website at Explore APTA Membership.

Step 2: Join a State Chapter

As part of your APTA national membership, you’ll also be required to join one of APTA’s state chapters. Each chapter offers local networking, state-specific member benefits, continuing education opportunities, and advocacy updates that are relevant to your region.

Step 3: Join the Academy of Pelvic Health Physical Therapy

Once you are an APTA national and state chapter member, you will now be eligible to join any of APTA’s 18 specialty academies—including the Academy of Pelvic Health Physical Therapy. Simply add the Academy to your membership through your APTA account. Academy membership provides exclusive access to specialized continuing education discounts, free webinar recordings, access to the Journal of Women's & Pelvic Health Physical Therapy, research updates, clinical resources, mentorship directory, PT locator listing options, and a vibrant community of professionals advancing pelvic and abdominal health. Many members are members of one or more academies so you can choose more than one! Monthly payment plans are available.
