Karen C. Snowden, PT, DPT

Dr. Karen Snowden is a board-certified specialist in pelvic and women’s health. She holds a Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from Widener University and a physical therapy degree from Northeastern University. Additionally, she has advanced practice certifications from the APTA Academy of Pelvic Health in obstetrics (CAPP-OB) and pelvic health (CAPP-Pelvic).
With 40 years of clinical experience, Dr. Snowden leads a specialized team of physical therapists at a large hospital-based outpatient network. She's dedicated to providing patient-centered care for complex abdominal-pelvic conditions in adolescents and adults of all genders, including LGBTQ+ individuals. Her work addresses issues related to obstetrics, pain, gynecology, oncology, bladder, bowels, sexual function, and menopause.
As a respected national and international speaker, author, and educator, Dr. Snowden is on the faculty of the APTA Academy of Pelvic Health, where she instructs certification courses. She also serves as an adjunct faculty member at DeSales University. She has received numerous honors, including the APTA Pelvic Health's prestigious Elizabeth Noble Award for Extraordinary and Exemplary Service to the Field of Physical Therapy and her employer’s Bill and Nancy Mason Award for Excellence in the Delivery of Rehabilitation Services.
As co-owner of Snowden & Litos LLC (www.snowdenlitos.com), Dr. Snowden develops curricula and educates healthcare professionals on the latest research and clinical care during and after the menopause transition. She also advises healthcare organizations on establishing multidisciplinary menopause programs and helps corporations improve work environments and employee retention with menopause-informed strategies. She has been a keynote speaker at several medical conferences. In her spare time, she enjoys traveling, skiing, and playing tennis.
