Professional Bio

Ronit Sukenick began her career at New York Presbyterian Hospital at Columbia in 2006 after completing a joint BS/Doctorate of Physical Therapy program at Boston University. She rotated through various inpatient and outpatient units and clinics and was set on specializing in physical therapy for neurological conditions. That all changed when, during her first pregnancy, she developed debilitating pelvic pain and other pelvic floor symptoms and many, many years later was diagnosed with endometriosis which made all her symptoms finally make sense.

She spent years searching for solutions before discovering pelvic floor physical therapy—a little-known specialty at the time—and finally making progress toward recovery. She began taking advanced coursework in pelvic health, and in 2012 she created the Pelvic Floor Rehabilitation Program at New York Presbyterian Hospital at Columbia.

Four years later, Ronit opened a private practice in Westchester to treat patients with pelvic health conditions, which has since grown into a thriving, multi-practitioner specialty clinic dedicated to serving her community. She holds the Pelvic Rehabilitation Practitioner Certification (PRPC) through Herman & Wallace, as well as a Pregnancy and Postpartum Athleticism certification. In addition, she serves as a teaching assistant for Herman & Wallace continuing education courses, helping train other physical therapists in this growing specialty.

Ronit is passionate about evidence-based physical therapy, the role of exercise in lifelong health, and advocating for patients as they navigate the healthcare system. She lives in Hastings on Hudson, NY with her husband, two sons, and two dogs. Outside the clinic, she spends a lot of time walking her dogs all over town and enjoys reading, drawing, yoga, tennis, biking, and running.
