Professional Bio
Kayla Koren earned her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from A.T. Still University in 2023 after completing her undergraduate degree in Exercise and Wellness from Arizona State University. She has taken additional, specialized coursework in women's and pelvic health from the American Physical Therapy Association in urinary incontinence, bowel dysfunction, pelvic pain, male pelvic health, and the pregnancy and postpartum populations, as well as other conditions. She has received her Certificate of Achievement in Pelvic Health Physical Therapy. She is currently pursuing her Doctor of Education in Health Professions degree from A.T. Still University, and recently took on the role of teaching assistant for The Academy of Pelvic Health Physical Therapy while working in patient care full time. She is passionate about approaching patient care with a wholistic lens, considering body, mind, and spirit in her evaluation and treatment. In her physical therapy program, she held a position on the student board for the ATSU Center for Occupational and Physical Therapy and was consistently involved in treating the underserved community in this setting. She held the position of Director for the Student Special Interest Group for the Academy of Pelvic Health Physical Therapy, and was also on the Digital Media Committee for The Journal of Women's and Pelvic Health Physical Therapy, helping to promote and engage with recent research in this field. She has recent experience as Adjunct Faculty, helping to teach first-year physical therapy students. Her professional special interests also include physical therapy education, research, and pro bono work to serve the underserved population.
