About the Instructor
Jocelyn Kope, BSc Physiotherapy

Jocelyn Kope earned her BSc (Hons) Physiotherapy from the University of Cape Town in 2009 and has been based in the UAE since 2015. She practices a patient-centered approach and looks beyond the symptoms to find and address their underlying causes.

Jocelyn first studied scar treatment in South Africa in 2013. Since then, she has chosen to continue her education according to the types of scars, and the stories behind them, that she typically sees in a clinical setting. Jocelyn has therefore trained further in subjects including women’s health, oncology, complete decongestive therapy, and visceral manipulation. She is a certified PINC cancer rehab physiotherapist and course contributor and was invited to speak at the World Physiotherapy Congress in 2023 about her work in this area. Jocelyn is a trusted local collaborator for surgeons, oncologists, and other physiotherapists, and since 2024 she has been teaching scar treatment techniques internationally. She regularly presents at local and international conferences on various aspects of scar physiotherapy, and believes that scar treatment should be a standard part of post-operative rehabilitation.
