An Introduction to Endometriosis

The Student Special Interest Group and Dr. Terri Robertson Elder, PT, DPT, CLT, Board-Certified Pelvic and Women's Health Clinical Specialist, hosted a webinar in which Dr. Elder provided an introduction to endometriosis for students.

In this webinar, Dr. Elder provides a brief presentation on the basics of endometriosis and physical therapy intervention strategies for this patient population. Included is a short Q&A session with Dr. Elder featuring questions from the audience about working with these patients.

Dr. Terri Robertson Elder

Dr. Terri Robertson Elder (she/her) is passionate about collaborating with people experiencing uncertainty about pelvic, bladder, or bowel symptoms to find understanding and relief, so that they may thrive and cultivate joy in movement and sport. Dr. Robertson Elder is a faculty instructor in the Department of Physical Therapy at Georgia State University and adjunct faculty at a number of other universities, has taught courses with Pelvic Global and has joined Antony Lo as a Teaching Assistant. Terri is also a Street Parking Pregnancy and Postpartum Coach and is a private practice owner in Brevard, North Carolina with Thrive Physio and Pisgah Movement Alliance. 

Terri graduated from GSU with a Doctorate in Physical Therapy and is a Board-Certified Clinical Specialist in Women’s Health Physical Therapy. Her primary areas of interest are in oncology treatment and pelvic health, especially as it relates to movement practices. Terri also holds certifications as a Kripalu yoga teacher and Pilates instructor and is a Certified Lymphedema Therapist and Pregnancy and Postpartum Athleticism coach. Terri relocated from Atlanta to Brevard, NC in 2019 in search of more hiking and biking trails, and a wonderful community to share with her partner and son (and Whiskey the dog). Terri is also step-mom to two wonderful adult “kids”! At her core, Terri is a movement optimist, and a food-obsessed music fanatic who also loves lifting heavy stuff. “My mission on the planet is to put LOVE into action by approaching myself and others with CURIOSITY and COMPASSION, seeking to CULTIVATE health and wellness for all.”
