Professional Bio

Dr. Stephanie Dillon (she/her) is a Doctor of Physical Therapy, and is board-certified in pelvic and women’s health physical therapy - one of the very few PTs in the Peoria, IL, area to earn this distinction.

Dr. Stephanie received her Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree from Washington University in St. Louis in 2007. She started her physical therapy career by first specializing in orthopedic disorders & musculoskeletal injuries, holding a board certification as an Orthopedic Clinical Specialist (OCS) from 2011-2021. She also taught in the University of Chicago Orthopedic Physical Therapy Residency Program for four years.

After needing to go through pelvic floor therapy herself as a patient, she developed an interest in pelvic health problems and pelvic floor dysfunction. As a result she has been treating people with pelvic health problems since 2012, and earned her board certification as a Pelvic and Women’s Health Clinical Specialist (PWCS) in 2019.

She is both an Instructor and Teaching Assistant for the Academy of Pelvic Health Physical Therapy (an Academy of the American Physical Therapy Association), where she helps train other PTs to become certified in women’s/pelvic health physical therapy.

Dr. Stephanie started Pelvic Love Physiotherapy and Wellness out of her passion to help others with problems that most people would consider “embarrassing.” She enjoys using her background in orthopedics to help inform the care of her patients with pelvic health problems, and vice versa. She is especially passionate about helping women during the pregnancy and postpartum period understand more about how this process affects not only their pelvic floor, but also the joints and muscles of the whole body.

Dr. Stephanie lives in Germantown Hills, Illinois, with her family, and in her spare time enjoys reading, traveling, and hiking. She is also the Physical Therapist Advisor for MommaStrong (check it out!).

Mentorship Services Description

I love teaching and am not in a position to take students right now, but would love to be a mentor! I've been a mentor through my state association for several years and have really enjoyed helping others grow their career & clinical knowledge. Pelvic health is my passion, but I still see a lot of orthopedics as well.
