Navigating the Transition from Student to Pelvic Health Practitioner
Student Special Interest Group (SSIG)

Join Dr. Kay Mastrocola, Pelvic Health Physical Therapist and creator behind the popular Instagram account @DPTs_With_Anxiety, as she dives into the anxious and awkward in-betweens of transitioning from a student to a full-time clinician. Through her own journey into pelvic health, Dr. Mastrocola will share what early practice actually looks like, from building confidence after Level 1 training to navigating job searches and interviews in the pelvic health space. She’ll also talk through managing expectations as a new grad, working through imposter syndrome, and finding the right resources, mentors, and community to support your growth. Whether you’re just starting to explore pelvic health or preparing to enter the field, this session will leave you feeling more grounded, supported, and a little less alone, with time for Q&A at the end.
Webinar Objectives

Dr. Kay Mastrocola, PT, DPT is an Orthopedic and Pelvic Health Physical Therapist in Rhode Island. And, outside of the clinic, she is the three brain cells in a trench coat behind the Instagram and TikTok page @Dpts_With_Anxiety. Created to embrace the awkward inbetweens of healthcare and higher education, Dr. Kay uses memes and short form content to bring awareness to the importance and prevalence of mental health needs in these spaces. She has presented at the APTA National Conference, spreading awareness about ableism in the field of physical therapists and inspires others how to be aware and an ally to disabled communities. Her only goals in life, in her profession and with her page are simple: make you smile, make you feel less alone and make you 2% better every day.
