About the Virtual Pop-Up

This Virtual Pop-Up will explore mental health challenges of the male patient in a pelvic health setting with a goal of providing clinicians with tools to address various aspects of mental health and the care of the male client, and intended for any practitioner or student who is interested in providing holistic patient care for the male population.

This virtual pop-up is currently scheduled for Tuesday, September 21-Thursday, September 23, 2027.

  • Provider Communication with the Male Client
  • Access to Mental Health Services
  • Addressing Anxiety and Depression
  • Mental Health Consequences of Chronic Illness
  • Stigma Surrounding Mental Health Challenges for Men
  • PTSD and Trauma
  • Challenges to a Cancer Diagnosis
  • Mental Health in the LGBTQ population
  • Mental Health Generational Challenges

Before You Submit

Intended Audience

PTs, PTAs, and SPTs at all levels of experience who are interested in providing holistic patient care for the male population.

Presentation Format
Presentations are 45 minutes, followed by a 15-minute live Q&A session.
Selection Process
Proposals will be reviewed based on relevance to the event theme, evidence base, clinical applicability, originality, and overall proposal quality.
If Selected
Selected presenters will receive additional information regarding presentation preparation, presentation materials, promotional assets, and deadlines after acceptance.
Speaker Eligibility
  • At least one speaker in the session must be an Academy of Pelvic Health Physical Therapy member (preferred).
  • The topic may be presented by one or multiple individuals, with a maximum of three presenters.
  • Presenters should have relevant clinical, academic, research, or professional expertise related to the proposed topic.
Speaker Expectations
  • Present current, evidence-based information relevant to the proposed topic.
  • Translate research into practical clinical applications.
  • Provide strategies, tools, or frameworks that clinicians can implement in practice.
  • Ensure content aligns with the Academy's mission and scope of physical therapy practice.
  • Proposals should offer original content and avoid substantial duplication of existing Academy educational offerings. The proposed topic should not be identical or too similar to a CAPP course or an existing Collaborative Course. However, if the proposal is based on a similar topic, it should offer differentiation by exploring the subject in greater depth or approaching it from a unique perspective.
  • Presenters must be prepared to participate in the live virtual session and Q&A.
Proposal Components
Session Title
Maximum of 15 words.
Session Description
Maximum of 200 words.
Learning Objectives
Up to four measurable learning objectives.
References
Five to seven current bibliographic references in AMA format, no more than 7 years old at the time of presenting.
Speaker Information
Name, degrees/credentials, institution, city/state, and speaker headshot and biography highlighting relevant experience.
Keywords
Keywords to help potential attendees find the session topic.
Content Level
Basic, Intermediate, or Advanced.
Conflict of Interest Disclosure
Conflict of interest disclosures for all presenters.

Speaker Honorarium

If selected, the speaker or speaker group will receive a total honorarium of $100. If there is more than one speaker for a session, the honorarium will be divided equally among the presenters.
