Help Shape the Future of Pelvic Health Education

Call for Content Creators

The Academy of Pelvic Health Physical Therapy of the American Physical Therapy Association is seeking experienced pelvic health clinicians and educators to join our Content Contractor Pool for the development of new educational content within the Certificate of Advanced Practice in Pelvic Health (CAPP) program.

We are developing a series of evidence-based, clinically relevant modules that will support advanced pelvic health education for physical therapists and physical therapist assistants. We are looking for individuals passionate about education, evidence-based practice, and creating high-quality learning experiences for clinicians worldwide.

This project is a pilot focused on specific modules/courses identified as a priority in 2027. CAPP Panels will peer-review, edit, and update all content. This is independent of the current content creation being done by panels; however, the success of this pilot will be analyzed for future opportunities.

About the Opportunity

Selected applicants will become part of the Academy's Content Contractor Pool and will be matched with modules based on their clinical expertise and writing experience.

Assignments will generally consist of one module at a time. Following successful completion of a module—including peer review, revisions, and final acceptance—contractors may be offered additional modules within their area of expertise based on project needs, quality of submitted work, and adherence to timelines.

Selection into the Content Contractor Pool does not guarantee a specific number of module assignments.

Module Expectations

Each module is expected to:

  • Be evidence-based, clinically relevant, and appropriate for advanced physical therapist education.

  • Follow Academy formatting, style, and APA 7th edition reference guidelines.

  • Include learning objectives, clinical applications, clinical pearls, key takeaways, and current evidence where appropriate.

  • Incorporate high-quality references and best available evidence.

  • Be developed using the Academy's content template and writing guidelines.

Content will undergo peer review by Academy subject matter experts before final acceptance. Contractors should anticipate responding to reviewer comments and completing one revision cycle during the development process.

Compensation

Contractors will receive a $600 USD stipend for each successfully completed module that meets Academy standards, payable following submission of the completed module, incorporation of any required peer-review revisions, and final acceptance by the Academy.

Acknowledgement

Contractors will receive acknowledgment as Content Creators in the course manual and/or on the Academy website.

Timeline and Time Commitment

Each module assignment is expected to follow the timeline below:

  • Initial outline draft: Submitted by Week 2

  • Mid-contract draft: Submitted by Week 4

  • Final draft: Submitted within 8–10 weeks of assignment

  • Revisions: Contractors should reserve approximately 2 additional weeks following peer review to address any critical or major revisions requested before final acceptance.

  • Minor editorial changes after final acceptance may be completed by Academy editors.

The time it takes to develop a high-quality, evidence-based module depends on the complexity of the topic, the contractor's familiarity with the subject matter, time management skills, and the extent of the required literature review.

Future Opportunities

Contractors who consistently produce high-quality content may be offered additional writing assignments as new modules are developed.

Separate opportunities to record educational presentations for completed modules may also become available. Recording contracts will be offered through a separate application and contracting process and are independent of content development assignments.

Application Requirements

Applicants will be asked to submit:

  • Curriculum vitae (CV)

  • Professional credentials

  • Summary of clinical and teaching experience

  • Professional writing experience

  • Writing sample or representative publication (recommended)

  • Areas of subject matter expertise

  • Preferred module assignments

  • Availability over the next 18 months, including anticipated blackout dates

  • Confirmation that they can meet the expected writing timeline
