Position: Awards Committee Member

Listing Expires: 5/30/2026* While an application deadline is in place, applications will be reviewed and vetted on a rolling basis, and positions may be filled as qualified candidates are identified.

Location: Remote

Term Duration: 3-Year Term and 2-Year Term available

  • 2 of the appointees will serve a 3-year term (June 2026-June 2029)
  • 1 of the appointees will serve a 2-year term (June 2026-June 2028)

Qualifications

The Academy of Pelvic Health Physical Therapy is seeking 3 members to join the Awards Committee:

  • 1 currently active volunteer member
    • Must be an Academy of Pelvic Health member in good standing for at least one year
    • Past service to the Academy (preferred)
  • 2 members-at-large
    • Must be an Academy of Pelvic Health member in good standing for at least one year
    • Past service to the Academy (preferred)
Responsibilities
  1. Develop and propose award titles, descriptions, and eligibility criteria to the APTA Pelvic Health Board of Directors
  2. Design evaluation rubrics and evaluation methods for award categories
  3. Review award nominations or applications for each award against the applicable criteria approved by the APTA Pelvic Health Board of Directors
  4. Recommend potential recipients to the APTA Pelvic Health Board of Directors for final approval
  5. Propose the addition or retirement of future awards tot he Board for consideration.
  6. Submit a quarterly report to the APTA Pelvic Health Board that includes updates and accomplishments of the committee.
  7. Meet with the committee for 1-2 hours per month, with additional hours needed on a quarterly basis to review award applications
  8. Report to the APTA Pelvic Health Board of Directors

Restrictions

During the entire term of service, no member of the Awards Committee may be nominated for an award, or if nominated, may not be considered. Likewise, the Awards Committee member may not apply for any of the awards while they are serving their volunteer term.

About the Committee

The Awards Committee is responsible for ensuring a fair award recipient selection process by identifying, vetting, and promoting internal and external stakeholders who are deserving of each award. The Awards Committee shall consist of five (5) appointed members who have agreed to serve on the Committee:

  1. One (1) past Elizabeth Noble Award recipient
  2. One (1) past Board member
  3. One (1) Current active volunteer
  4. Two (2) Members at large
