Shadowing Opportunity Details

I offer mentoring to students and pelvic PTs via phone consults or rounds (prior clinics Function Smart PT, Sharp Health care) and online discussion forums. I have ed courses on the bladder, POP, Yoga applications in pelvic health, as well as the integration of Lifestyle Medicine in PT. I have a part-time private practice in San Diego, typically with complex patients who may have trauma histories and therefore most are not open to having a student present. My support for students would be best served with mentoring and courses, and offering 30-minute phone consults to SPTs or PT's for case discussions, problem-solving, and career navigation for growth and in support of ethics. As an author (Pelvic Rehabilitation, The Manual Therapy and Exercise Guide Across the Lifespan, Handspring Publishing and Amazon), I can offer insights on specialization areas and general education. As a PT shifting from neuro-ortho to pelvic, I experienced the overwhelm in navigating the best treatments to offer female, male, and non-binary pelvic health care with tremendous self-study, obtaining my WCS, DPT, and taking years of courses. Validation of overwhelm and discussion of the varied decision paths possible as a PT can help students in their journeys through the healthcare arena.
