Students will have an opportunity to learn and work with patients who require the expertise of a physical therapist trained in male pelvic health. This includes a large percentage of patients diagnosed with prostate cancer. We offer both prehab and post-surgical rehab as well as cancer rehab to address side affects from a wide range of cancer treatments. Students will have an opportunity to work with Rehabilitiative Ultrasoun d Imaging and Surface EMG technology. The Pelvic Health PT also treats patients diagnosed with male pelvic pain.
Students are able to request pelvic health PT at any point in their clinical internships. First year students will gain exposure to pelvic health to determine if they wish to pursue additional training in pelvic health. 3rd year students are encouraged to take a pelvic health elective prior to the begining of their placement for a full time pelvic health internship.
