Professional Bio

Kelly Tusha, PT, DPT, WCS, is a board-certified pelvic health physical therapist with over 11 years of experience, including five years in a private gynecological office. She currently practices at UF Health Shands Ocala Neighborhood Hospital.

Dr. Tusha earned her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from the University of Florida (2013) and completed her Women’s Health Physical Therapy Residency at Brooks Rehabilitation (2016). She became board-certified in women’s health (2018) following a rigorous year of specialized coursework, patient care, and mentoring.

She currently treats men, women, and neurotypical older children. Her areas of expertise include urinary and bowel dysfunction, pelvic pain, musculoskeletal issues during pregnancy and postpartum, and pelvic organ prolapse. Her goal is to provide top-quality, patient-centered care that integrates clinical expertise with evidence-based practice.

Shadowing Opportunity Details

The student must be in a current DPT program and voice strong interest in pelvic health. Prefer a brief phone call/resume review prior to starting. If over 20 hours, will need to go through our volunteer services department for further screening. This hospital-based outpatient clinic currently offers pelvic health physical therapy for all genders and some neurotypical pediatrics ages 8 and up.

Student Clinical Affiliation Description

This hospital-based outpatient clinic currently offers pelvic health physical therapy for all genders and some neurotypical pediatrics ages 8 and up. Only 1 PT on staff at 34 hours/full time.

Student Clinical Affiliation Requirements

It is highly recommended but not required that students interested in a rotation have completed a Pelvic Health Level 1 course through the APTA or Herman and Wallace. A brief phone interview/resume review is required. A preferred student candidate is highly motivated and compassionate. This rotation must be one of the last performed to ensure a high level of competence.
