Professional Bio
Katharine graduated from Northwestern University’s DPT program in the Feinberg School of Medicine receiving both the Clinical Excellence and Student Leadership Awards. Since then, she has assisted patients with issues such as pain, post-surgical recovery, and returning to running. Katharine has specialized training in treatment of pelvic floor conditions, including pelvic and coccygeal pain, bladder and bowel incontinence, constipation, and dyspareunia, as well as pregnancy and post pregnancy concerns, including diastasis rectus abdominus and return to activity.
Katharine believes moving with ease and strength cultivates wellbeing. Her Physical Therapy philosophy is grounded in the movement system approach. Katharine will not only address your acute concern, but also, your habitual movement patterns and postures that create inefficiency and pain. You will learn how to prevent recurrence and be empowered to consciously move in ways that promote your strength and wellness.
Practicing yoga for over 20 years, and guiding students as a yoga instructor since 2011, Katharine incorporates the evidence-based benefits of mindfulness and diaphragmatic breathing into her clinical practice. She works with her patients and clients to establish a transformative and comprehensive treatment plan.
Katharine's pursuit of advanced training continues as she is currently completing her Certificate of Achievement in Pelvic Health with the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) and Comprehensive Pilates Teacher Training with Balanced Body.
Katharine is a member of the APTA Academy of Pelvic Health and is an elected member of the Illinois Physical Therapy Association Assembly of Representatives.
