JWPHPT Welcomes Dr. Shefali Christopher as New Associate Editor
The Journal of Women's and Pelvic Health Physical Therapy (JWPHPT) has appointed Dr. Shefali Christopher as New Associate Editor. Shefali Christopher PT, DPT, PhD, LAT, ATC serves as the director of admissions and is a core faculty member of the Tufts DPT Seattle program. She is a clinical specialist in sports physical therapy through the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties. Christopher has numerous publications and presentations related to her research interested on returning to sport after childbirth. In 2020, she was awarded the Excellence in Teaching Award by the AASPT and received the Academy of Pelvic Health Research Grant in 2023. Additionally, she supports USA paratriathlon at numerous international races and was the medical liaison to the team at the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic games.

JWPHPT exists to disseminate the science and clinical practice to advance the domain of knowledge particular to pelvic health and women’s health physical therapy. This specialized area of physical therapy practice requires extensive post-graduate education and training. Translating scientific theory into practice and education, JWPHPT provides the global community of physical therapists with the foundation for evidence-based practice for the provision of physical therapy to address the unique needs of women and pelvic health for all. The core journal articles include original research as well as integration and interpretation from the diverse areas of study that contribute to the science underlying the physical therapy management of persons with functional deficits due to the interrelationship of the genitourinary, neuromusculoskeletal, and cardiorespiratory systems. The reviewer pool draws heavily from specialists in this community with demonstrated content expertise, and for that reason, the reviewers have a strong dedication to the quality of journal content. This dedication manifests as outstanding reviews and guidance intended to maximize the impact of the journal content. To augment the core article content, JWPHPT offers digital media in the form of online videos and social media to further the integration of scientific information into clinical practice.
